Dear ALL

The WHALE SHOP got new stock of St Lucia Tours & Charters / Advantage fleese jackets and raincoats .

It’s sometimes bitterly cold especially on the early morning trips , even on the Hippo/Croc Boat , so if any client is wanting to buy a jacket , they’re welcome to pop into the shop .

I haven’t done a whale update for a while , the sightings have been awesome , we’ve got clientele making a point of coming back into the office to say just how much they’ve enjoyed the beautiful sightings ! jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…..they DO get soaked on certain trips ( not all ) ……but that’s part of the fun ! ...

There has been 2 sighting of Southern Right Whale , which feels like Christmas , as this is an extra bonus , our side of the coastline mostly only have Humpback Whales coming past , so the 5 or 6 times in the season that we spot Southern Rights , it’s a HUGE bonus ! Southern Rights are easily distinguished due to an unusual feature :the callosities – raised patches of wart like skin on their head that are present from birth but become yellow in colour as they become encrusted with whale lice and barnacles .

The Southern Rights are the most prolific of the baleen visitors along the Cape Coast during the winter months , and the Humpback Whales along the Kwa Zulu Natal Coast , as they undertake their annual migration between their breeding grounds off Mozambique / Madagascar and their feeding grounds of Antarctica .

It’s a beautiful weekend ….St Lucia pumping , every single bed fully booked , so obviously every business benefiting this weekend ! ENJOY IT ! Please keep in touch if you need any information !
