julle!!!

Danie’s out at the moment and they’re seeing a 60ton Southern Right Whale !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excitement ALL around !!!!!!!!!!! He phones with SO much emotion in his voice , I just also want to get out there and go look , I think the last time I saw a Southern Right was about 4 years ago ! With us having mostly HUMPBACK WHALE sightings daily , the Southern Right is a welcome BONUS , it’s like spotting the leopard whilst out on the Hippo / Croc Boat Cruise !

They still have the most awesome WHALE sightings daily , the winds just seems to be blowing constantly and the bookings unpredictably can sometimes cancel at the last minute due to bad weather or high seas , that why I want to ask PRETTY PLEASE DON’T send clientèle to our offices for the whale watching with credit cards!!!!!!

Whale Watching is CASH ONLY , as IF we do have to cancel at the last minute it’s just SO much easier to refund the client his/her cash , than to do credit card refunds !

We won’t accept any credit cards for the whales , please explain it to your clientèles as such that the trips DO sometimes get canceled at the last minute , therefore they HAVE to please pay cash only !

Danie and Berno also ‘’saved a whale’’ again day before yesterday , and it felt like in 1998 when he saved a whale that was entangled in meters and meters of rope ! After being able to cut the rope from the whale , the whale slapped on the water with it’s flippers as if to say THANK YOU !

Dear Riette!

I just want to let you know how much it meant for our German visitors to be
out on the boat and see the whales up close.
Thank you for all your trouble and for giving people the opportunity to do
this special thing!
Good luck for the future and keep up the good work.

Kind regards
Stella Cockburn

Monday 15 August was a very special day for us , as we were surprised to see a SOUTHERN RIGHT Whale close to shore ! With us having 99% of HUMPBACK WHALES ‘ sightings, a SOUTHERN RIGHT is always an extra bonus, as they again mostly get sighted by our Cape Town colleagues.

We’ve been used to having our Southern Right visitors in August, the very 1st year we started whale watching the 1st Southern Right was spotted on Joey’s birthday on the 26th, and Danie specially made a point of making her close the office and go out to see with him!

The Southern Right whale is the larger of the 2, weighing approximately 20tons’ more than the Humpback Whale and is the one with the large callosities growing on the ‘face’ area of this enormous mammal! They are more ‘placid’ and not so acrobatic as the Humpback Whales.
